Imatia was founded in 2005 with the mission of impacting on research, technological creation and, above all, quality software that effectively solves customer problems.

Over the years, Imatia has had a sustained and sustainable growth and has established itself as a reference in software development, working with leading entities and companies in various sectors, both public and private.

A history of constant growth

Since its beginnings in 2005, Imatia has been consolidating its position as a reference in the quality software sector.

2006

We launch Ontimize, our rapid application development platform.

2008

We launch our ERP Elastic Business, and our e-Government platform Cividas.

2010

Emprendedor XXI Award to the Galician company with the highest growth potential, granted by La Caixa.

2012

Among the 100 most innovative companies in Europe by Red Herring.

2014

Imatia launches its first European R&D&I project.

2016

First project on the African continent for ONCF (Morocco's national railroad company). Galicia Industry Award in the category of best innovation project. Imatia receives the official seal of Innovative SME and participates in the project that allows the first autonomous marine drone in Spain to navigate in the Vigo estuary. We exceed 100 employees.

2018

Imatia leads the Logynamics project, which develops artificial intelligence for the optimization of logistics processes.

2020

We start the Research and Development project for the generation of Multilateral SaaS Platforms (MSP).

2005

Imatia is born as a spin-off of the University of Vigo.

2007

We opened the office in A Coruña.

2009

First project in the Netherlands.

2011

Move to the Science and Technology Park of the University of Vigo. First project in United Kingdom.

2013

Our company launches its first project in North America. Specifically, the initiative takes place in the United States and Canada.

2015

Opening of a subsidiary in São Paulo, Brazil Opening of an office in Santiago de Compostela.

2017

We launch Ontimize Web, the evolved version of our rapid application development platform. We sign collaboration agreement with the German technology company GBTEC for the development of new BPM products and for their commercialization in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets. We open an office in Ourense.

2019

GBTEC SOFTWARE S.L. is born, the Joint Venture of Imatia and the German GBTEC, to offer the best solutions in BPM and GRC (Risk and Compliance Management) to the Spanish and Latin American markets.

The strength of a highly trained staff

Imatia's team is currently made up of approximately 230 people. Most of them are computer, telecommunications or industrial engineers, since software development is one of the company's main tasks. In addition, it has the collaboration of two PhD Engineers from the University of Vigo, as well as several experts in the area of internationalization.

Through contracts with universities, the company incorporates recent graduates in its R&D and Innovation projects. This allows the company to identify talent and train personnel in advanced technical aspects. Once the most talented people have been selected, the company incorporates them into the company, focusing on the activities that best fit their professional profile.

All employees receive training in the English language and in Project Management (PMBOK®). Some employees receive specific training on issues related to managerial, commercial or financial skills. In addition, the company develops a coaching culture to promote the professional development of its staff.

The company has five work centers: in Vigo, A Coruña, Ourense, Santiago de Compostela and Bochum (Germany). The Vigo centre located in the Technological Park of the University of Vigo (CITEXVI), which offers strategic advantages when it comes to collaborating with the university R&D groups and technological centers located there. In order to improve the service offered to customers and partners in the north of Galicia, it was decided to open a second office in A Coruña. A third office was recently opened in Ourense due to its proximity to the School of Computer Engineering in Ourense. Finally, the Santiago de Compostela and Bochum offices are smaller and of a commercial nature, with the aim of serving an increasingly growing German market.
