R&D Project: PLATINO (Operative Independent Platform for Consumer Electronics Equipment)
The Spanish Industrial Technology Development Center (CDTI) has recognized, through its R&D program FEDER-Innterconecta, its support to the project “Platino”, where a group of firms cooperate in an area of strategic importance for the Spanish economy’s development.
The objective of this project is to implement a functional platform to be included in a myriad of consumer electronic devices, allowing the user experience to go beyond the physical supports. In this manner, regardless of the equipment used, the interaction with it will always be the same. The concept may be denominated as “multi-screen” or “Unique User Experience”.
Imatia participates through an emerging field known as “Citizen Developer”, whereby it will provide its technology and solutions to create a space in which advanced users may not only create their own multimedia interactive applications, but also deploy them over multiple screens on the “cloud” in real-time, with no prior programming experience or know-how required.
This ambitious project is led by Galician-based leading consumer electronics company, Blu:sens. Other companies also participating include Cinfo Contenidos Informativos Personalizados, Igalia, Interoud Innovation, the Technology Center GRADIANT and three R&D centers in Galician Universities.
